I'm in the final throes of buying gear for a trip to Iceland and can't work out what to bring to put on my head. I'll be taking a merino buff, maybe a light beanie, but I want a baseball cap to keep the rain out of my eyes (mainly light rain with only a windshirt on).
I see a few eVent caps and similar (e.g. Montane Pace Cap) which seems practical from a staying dry point of view (Iceland being very wet), but does a membrane actually work well in a hat which I assume gets pretty sweaty/dirty and won't stay DWR'd very well? (Hence wetting out, hence not breathing well)
Alternative would be basic, quick drying nylon (OR Pocket Cap maybe)
(I'd prefer to stay away from full brim caps, I don't like them under hoods and I have a buff to protect my neck from sun..)
