I was getting ready for a trip today and noticed that my Frontier Pro had a little screw on pre-filter that fits perfectly on Platty bottles!
I think I'm going to just put it inline with my push pull cap on my 1L and it will filter the big floaties as I drink.. or put it before the tube on my 2L hoser.
I use one as a prefilter for a sawyer squeeze. Makes squeezing a tiny bit harder, but I've never had to back flush on the trail.
I just bought an extra platy screw-on cap, cut out the middle, and glued in a metal screen filter. The cap goes on when I fill it up. I keep it ziplocked with my AM tablets. The ziplock acts as a filling bag (since platys can be tough to fill). Ziplock and screen cap together weighs 0.15oz.
