Did some searching, but only found one thread that contained much info on pole jacks. I see Roca and BearPaw both offer pole jacks in aluminum and CF costing and weighing about the same. Does anyone have experience with these? Which do people think would be most stable or should I just bring my GoLite pole that works well despite the 13 ounce weight?

I have a set of custom cut jacks from ruta locura and they work exceptionally well, I also purchased a 16" section of aluminum tent pole from easton poles directly and made a custom set of pole jacks to suit my needs. The thin aluminum jacks I made weigh the same as the carbon fiber ones I got from ruta locura.
I find the pole jacks to be a very small weight penalty on trips that I will be using my trekking poles anyway.
Do you think the CF or Aluminum is a stronger option? I'm just guessing, but probably need a 8 or 12" jack given that I have adjustable poles which should extend up to 5 feet or so. Thanks for the help
MLD also has aluminum pole jacks that Ron will include with a Mid order if requested. Maybe give him a call and see if he will sell them separately.
I can't comment on which one is stronger, I have never had one break. It comes down to preference I suppose, both options I mentioned cost roughly the same.
Also my custom cut jacks are 7 inches in length if that helps.
