ok so last week was working with using a coor's can with screw on lid for a water bottle/cook pot. But then started looking around the web more for some more ideas and came across the bpa issues with beer cans. Was wondering as I seen some people putting them into a dishwasher to dissolve the bpa lining. Real question is it the detergents or the heating it multiple times is washer that dissolves the bpa's.
The can has an Epoxy liner and most epoxies contain BPA. Washing will not dessolve the lining. Studies have shown Washing BPA containing water bottle was ineffective
The best way to remove it is to use an abrasive pad. The only other way I can think of is to turn the can upside down on your stoves burner to burn off the lining. But the can might melt at about the same tine the epoxy burnes off.
