Since they dont seem to make ultra light aluminum pots anymore, Ive been periodically browsing the thrift shops to see if I could locate a cheap, light 6qt aluminum pot.
Today, I happened upon this:
Whirly pop, 6qt pot. Weighs 10.2 oz. Available at bed bath and beyond, or many other places for $20-$25.
I found a brand new one in the thrift shop for …..$3.99.
A scout is thrifty.
May 26, 2013 at 7:31 pm #1989993Here is a cook set that still has a 6 qt pot in it. http://www.amazon.com/Texsport-Aluminum-4-Person-Cook-Set/dp/B000P9EZWU/ref=sr_1_40?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1369621665&sr=1-40&keywords=texsport
The whole cook set is not very costly if anyone is interested. daveMay 29, 2013 at 10:42 am #1990830Another possible source… http://www.opencountrycampware.com/products/CAMPING-EQUIPMENT/Pots-and-Kettles/
Our crew took a 6 qt (old one in troop supplies) and one of these 4 qt pots. Had only one meal that nearly exceeded capacity…
