What is the functional difference between Schoeller Nanosphere and Pertex Endurance UL? Is one more water resistant for a sleeping bag shell? Would you still use a bivy if your bag had either fabric for a shell?

probably still want a bivy because of all the seams in a sleeping bag.
just my op.

Schoeller Nanoshere (http://www.schoeller-textiles.com/uploads/media/nanosphere_e.pdf) is just a fabric with a DWR treatment. Water doesn't stick to the fabric and roles off. It is not waterproof.
Pertex Endurance (http://pertex.com/fabrics/endurance/) is a highly water resistant breathable fabric with a hydrostatic head of 1000mm and a breathability rating of "(MVTR) – 7,000g".
Nanoshere in a steady rain will allow wter to penetrate the fabric. It has a hydrostatic head close to zero. A Nanoshere bag should be used under a tarp or in a tent when rain is possible.
Pertex Endurance Has enough hydrostatic head to keep you dry in a light rain without, is windproof, and will still allow some water vapor to get out. However the stiching in the fabric is probably not seam sealed so water could get through the stiching.
If you are sleeping under a tarp both bags would be OK. However without a tarp the endurance fabric would only be OK in light rain but likely will not protect you in a hard rain.
Can you buy Schoeller Nanosphere fabric anywhere? How much does it weigh? Anyone actually use it?
I saw some fleece that has a Schoeller Nanosphere coating

365 g/m2 = 15.4 oz/yd2, like a 400 weight fleece, 69 Euros/meter so it's pretty expensive
