With two kids under two, backpacking is all about day trips with overnight trips from what people here in Norway call "cabin to cabin hiking" coming up, I hope to fit as much kit as possible in a large waist pack. I plan to carry our toddler in a carrier that keeps her close to my back, and leaves some space between her and my waist, which made me think that I could manage without pushing an off-road pram. A previous thread here mentioned that Rivendell has a large one. Of the big companies, osprey has the lightest of the largish ones, about 8 litres.
I'd love to pick the brains and experience of the gang here at BPL, looking forward to any suggestions.
