Got bored so I took apart an old Therm-a-Rest pad I got from a REI garage sale a few years back.
Its really easy to get to the foam if you use an iron to delaminate the fabric from the foam (also a good tip for shortening self inflating pads).
Anyways, used a stuff sack (12g) from an old LaFuma bag (since been turned into myog insulated pants), put in a section of foam (36g) rolled/folded into 4 layers.
The loft when I put my head on it is plenty for me, and I can stuff a jacket or something in there as well if I need more height. Only 48g, so about 1.7oz
9"x5". Packs down to the size of a baseball.
