I took this trip last July and never posted it.

This trip was to the South Warner Wilderness in Modoc National Forest. The wilderness located the very north east corner of California, very close to Oregon and Nevada. I was out for 2 and 1/2 days. I only saw one other person out there. He was a Mexican cowboy who didn't speak any English and was leading a mule, horse, and a couple of dogs down the trail.

Caught this nice trout (not sure what species???) on my third cast with 2 others chasing fighting after my lure.

At about this point in my trip, my car battery had been drained and I had to wait several hours for someone passing by to give me a jump. I didn't see anyone else on the way out, so I consider myself pretty lucky.

Nice, I love Aspens. Been there twice, no one back in there. Out two nights, doing a loop from the south to the north and back out. Had to climb Squaw Peak, aptly named if you ever see it. :)

It was a nice place. I liked the high alpine desert thing and all of the lava rocks. Too bad it's so far away.
