Sewing Machine Purchase – What should I watch for?

Hi,

About to embark into the world of MYOG and looking to buy a used sewing machine and am wondering if I need a certain type or capability.

I will be starting simple: sewing pack strap attachments, pot cozies, tarp edges, etc.

Any guidance would be appreciated.
