Cuben fiber is always touted as less weight but what about volume?

Is a tarp in cuben smaller when in a stuff sack compared to silnylon?

That would be a win in and of itself since you can carry a smaller backpack.

What weight cuben? and what weight sil?

From the stuff ive seen its not that much different not enough to call it a win. especially when comparing similar weight stuff.

Hi Kevin,

I found that my 0.75 weight Cuben Haven packs down to about half the size of my silnylon SMD Haven. So there is volume savings as well as weight.

To me, cuben seems to pack a bit bigger. It might be possible to pack it smaller, but I hate to torque it too much as I roll it. High tension folding (ie. the top of a roll top dry sack) can cause cuben to delaminate over time.
