I bought a pair of Bellwether Aqua-No rain pants today to find that an XL pair hits my scale at just 6.8oz. That should put the medium size down around 6oz, which is PDL (pretty darn light) in my book. They are simple pull-on pants with an elastic waist and drawstring, made of nylon with a micro-porous polyurethane coating.

I think it pays to keep an eye on running and cycling gear for UL hiking clothing options.

How's the fit? I won't wear anything that isn't roomy in the thighs and trim at the calfs/ankles anymore. So much easier to hike in clothing that fits well.

Seems fine to me. These XL pants measure 14" across the leg even with the crotch and 6" across the ankle, with a 31" inseam. The ankles have a rubberized internal band for grip. I tried climbing stairs with them on and had good results.
