I am relatively new to the West Coast, and also new to dealing with bears, and other animals on the trail. I have a sleeping bag that I have had snacks in such as granola bars, I haven't had any major spills of say milk on it. I plan on washing it this season before use, and use mcnett's odor cleaner.
Should this be enough precaution, should I get a new bag and avoid ever eating in it? I hate to be wasteful, but I will be traveling later in the season in bear country.
Thoughts?
