Check with a local seamstress/alterations place. I'm pretty short and need some of my technical clothing altered. My seamstress doesn't bat an eye at any fancy tech fabric, whether it be 20D nylon or 150g/m2 wool. As long as you don't need seam tape at the wrist, I imagine any competent seamstress can do the job. Although, make sure he/she is comfortable with the job and make she they know how much your garment costs.

A word of advice. Make sure you don't go too short on the arms. The first jacket I had altered was my 2010 Houdini. I had it measured with my arms at my sides. Now I wish I had factored in an extra inch or so, for some reach. No biggie, though, I'm still using it.
