Exped Synmat UL 9

I have both a Synmat and downmat Ul 7 so will be ignoring this product :-)

From the specs the Synmat ul9 is about 2oz heavier than the downmat ul7, which definitley is one to watch
For folks :-)

I think the downmat will last longer due to the fill.

Re the Synmat fill being less durable over time, is that because of the general tendency of synthetic fill to lose more loft than down after years of compressions, or is it rather because you expect it would delaminate from the mattress eventually whereas down wouldn't have that problem?

Re weights, according to the Exped site, the Long/Wide Downmat UL7 is 810g, so yes significant difference there between the two; but the 72" Downmat UL7 is 630g/22.2oz (R5.9) while the 72" Synmat UL9 is 620g/21.9oz (R6), so on paper the Synmat beats the Downmat there. But again, this is strictly according the website specs; I've no experience with the Exped mat line other than trying them at the store.
