I believe this is one instance that reporting problems and discussing potential avenues of repairing/preventing this has worked out. Gossamer Gear is sending me a replacement pack after reporting the problem with the straps, and some others I stumbled across over last year, using my Murmur 2012 to it's max for about a 1000 trail miles. I cannot thank them enough since many of these problems were no doubt caused by me and my generally wicked overloads of 23pounds for two weeks of hiking!
For now, this is one verrry happy customer. No, I am not a member of their trail ambasadors nor do I have any other affiliation.
Grant is also interested in my evaluation of a Kumo pack. This is heavier duty than the Murmur, and a mite heavier, close to the same as the MiniPosa. Soo, I guess I will be doing that instead of using the Murmur. The Miniposa is a bit larger (3200+ci) and I have not have much of a chance to use it anymore…poor thing. It's calling…
