Tarp Choice Question

I own a 9×9 Oware pyramid tarp (bought for my kids) and a GG Spinntwin. I think both shelters are great.

In planning a solo trip with a likelihood of heavy rains (I live in NYC, so I have to take the weather I find when I am able to get out of the city), I'm wondering which tarp the experienced tarp users among us would choose for those conditions.

I've used both in decent overnight thundershowers, but never in high wind or blustery conditions.

My questions are:

1. The spinntwin is light, and pitches like a dream. But would anyone have concerns, in terms of durability, using it in high winds below the treeline?

2. I've heard that the Oware pyramids are quite stable in high winds–any dissenters? (It's harder to get a tight pitch with this tarp).

3. Would anyone opt for the pyramid, in spite of the extra weight?

With either tarp, I'll probably use a BMW nano bivy, and a polycro ground sheet. The trip is a two night three day hike, so either way, my pack weight is not likely to be much of a factor.

I like the sleek feel and beauty of the spinntwinn, and my bias is to use it for those reasons. But I'm a little nervous about getting wet or having the tarp blow out.

Thanks in advance,
David
