I have been trying to find a good fit with these and the size 9 was too small and the size 10 was too big but I put my shoe liner inside the 10 and it's perfect.

Without the shoe liner inside the gor-tex sock the wrinkles of fabric on the bottom were uncomfortably noticeable and I worried they would cause rubbing and blisters.

Does anyone use them like this?

I actually found the extra room and the slipperiness of the liner to help prevent blisters.

I wear a size 9 trail runner.

I went back to wearing the size 10 sock inside the shoe for most of the day and it seemed OK even with a somewhat thin marino wool toesock.

It would be tight either way though with a thick smartwool sock so I wonder if I should go to an 11 sock and size up to a 9.5 shoe.

Thanks for any insight – I have read a number of articles and posts but feet are so individual : )

I will be using this in slush, mud & wet conditions down to around 30 degrees this month so no need now for thick socks.
