I'm wanting to get away from a pump filter. Not really thrilled about tablets as an alterate and have decided to try an inline filter. I don't know yet if I'll try in-line with a bladder or a DIY gravity set-up. So, I want a filter that would work for both. I've looked at the Sawyer SP121, the 3-Way, and the Squeeze. Anybody got any advice????

Dean,

I have been using the 1st gen Sawyer Inline filter as a gravity filter in camp and as a DIY Squeeze Filter while on the trail.

Given what is available out there now, I would recomment the Sawyer Squeeze filter because it also can be used as an inline filter with a threaded adapter kit that they sell.

I am thinking of replacing mine with the new Squeeze filter for the ease of use of the ability to directly screw onto a soft sided bottle like the Evernew, which is much easier than my DIY setup.

The Sawyer Squeeze will allow you to easy try out both setups as an inline or a gravity filter.

I would recommended using the gravity filter setup while in camp because it does require a little more setup/time where on the trail using it as an inline/squeeze is much faster.
