I just wanted to say thanks to all the posts here on ideas on other MYOG backpacks. It helped greatly with my own pack.

Took around 10 hours to complete using 1.9 ripstop and cordura. Total weight of the back is 9 oz. I still need to add a hipbelt and sternum strap but so far it’s comfortable. Loaded it up with 8lbs. and no shoulder strain and it handled the weight fairly well

Mangus,

What a great job you did on that!

The straps look great, the size looks tailor-made for you (it was :) ), and the pocket setup is awesome.

The pic you posted here doesn't do your hard work justice! Can't wait to see more of your blog.

Thanks Todd. It was definitely a learning experience but it was a fun project. I appreciate the comments :)

Looks awesome, shoulder straps look comfy too. That part scares me, which is probably why I have fabric for a pack sitting around collecting dust.

Thanks!

You should just jump on it, main reason why I did this with spare fabric…for experience so I won't make the same mistake on the next pack build :)
