Check out geartrade.com lots of merino items on there for around 30 in the "men's long underwear" section, including stoic, icebreaker, Smartwool, etc. Order the ones sold by Backcountry.com and it's free shipping
I found Academy brand's merino shirts for $22.50 or something close to it. It's 50% off of its regular price.
I would recommend looking over at sierra trading post. They have loads of icebreaker, smartwool etc. For example I found this one:
It is 39.95, but once or twice a week STP has 'additional 35%-45% off" offers and free shipping deals (you can find these out by going to retailmenot.com, or becoming a subscriber/member of STP).
Things get even cheaper if you get cashback (go to cashbackholic.com and you should be able to get a further 10% off). For that s/s tee the final price with these offers would be
39.95*0.65*0.9=$23.37, which in my opinion is a pretty good deal.

I get my merino on-line from either Department of Goods or 6pm. Last purchase was for a merino smartwool t-shirt for $25 a couple of months ago.
I ended up getting an Icebreaker Beast Apollo tee and it is incredible. I didn't realize a t shirt could be so great. If you haven't got one, bite the bullet and get one. I found some good deals over at Geartrade.com.
