Flasq wines

This is the Aussie version – available in red or white. Of course you can also get 2, 3, 4 or 10 litre versions!
The container is only 11 grams and readily reusable for metho etc.

Mark, when you say "metho", do you mean denatured alcohol? Or methanol?

I've tried using PET pouch bottles just like the one in your photo for methanol and, every time, the bottle begins leaking alcohol after about two days (even sitting on a shelf). I don't know why this should occur, because bottles like these are fabricated without glue, I think. It's done completely with heat-sealing of the polyethylene layer on the inside of the PET film. Nothing in the construction of the bottle should be soluble in methanol. But, in my experience, they hold water well but methanol makes them leak. Just a warning from a person who has eaten uncooked macaroni on the trail because of a leaky fuel bottle. Maybe these have worked for others.

Definitely, definitely denatured ethyl alcohol.

Here in Oz methanol is not even sold very much – certainly not the way it is sold in the USA. Toxic stuff.

The leaking may be due to the methanol: the sealing was never designed to handle it.

I have had Australian metho (denatured ethanol) in one of these containers (a 100ml version that originally contained babys yoghurt) for over 2 months without leakage and had similar results with olive oil. The US version of metho must be pretty potent.

Platypus make a nice 750ml (1 bottle) soft container for wine just like the regular soft bottles.

These containers do seem to be available to the food industry with a range of lining materials to suit the contents.
