I've been playing around with silicone rubber sheet. The pot lifter can be left on the pot for storage. No need to remove it. 3 tests under fire using a Venom Super Stove have proved no effect on the rubber so far.

The handle part remains over the pot. Right now I'm testing double sided silicone tape to hold the 2 handle ends together. Magnets can be attached so the handles can fall to the side of the pot for eating out of the pot or a much easier access into the pot for storage of items.

The pot lifter weighs 9 grams

    Dan,

    Nice job. Very cool.

Are they one piece cut from a flat piece of silicone or multiple pieces adhered to each other?

Where did you buy your silicone tape.

When you say "double sided" do you mean it has adhesive on both sides? If so then isn't the outside of the holder sticky? Inquiring minds want to know.

    Thanks,

    Daryl

Daryl, it is one piece made from flat sheet. Tape was purchased on ebay. It's the type that plumbers and electricians use. Sticks to itself. Outside of the holder is not sticky.

Watch how easy it is to pour hot water with one of these silicone pot lifters. Easy peasy!
