Got back awhile ago from a 3 day winter solo backpacking trip. Decided to test my 50% wool, 50% acrylic shirt as a baselayer. I wore it the whole time, day and night, and did a fair amount of sweating in it. It got a little funky in the armpit area, but wasn't too bad all in all and the part that was against the small of the back smelled very little. All the stink easily came out in a delicate cool wash cycle with gentle soap (Dr. Bronners).
I also enjoyed the overall handling of the fabric as far as wicking, how fast it dried, staying warm when damp, etc.
