I have an Olympus Stylus 770 SW and need a spare battery. Soliciting comments about whether some generic lithium batteries are as good as Olympus? Also do not like the charger that comes with the camera so am considering a generic charger that plugs directly into the wall outlet. Opinions on that option? Thanks!

I have had good luck with Delkin Device Lithium-Ion batteries for Canon cameras. They've been holding up well in retaining charges and work with my Canon rehargers. I don't know if Delkin has a battery for your specific camera–check their site. Generic batteries run from trash to as good or better than stock—beware of a battery whose price is too good to be true—buy from a reputable source and manufacturer of which Delkin is one.

What's wrong with the charger that comes w/ your camera? No experience w/ any generic chargers.

Kdesign,
Thanks for the input about Delkin. I'll look at their site. The charger that comes with the Olympus is annoying because it has a large, cumbersome cord. I'm accustomed to a Cannon charger with no cord. I noticed on some web site a generic Olympus charger without a cord and thought it would be more convenient, though have considered it would be yet another expense.
