I am searching for the best topo maps of the Wind Rivers (most detailed). I saw the Beartooth maps that are 1:50,000 and 50 foot contour intervals.
I am used to dealing with 1:24,000 maps. Logic tells me that the 1:50,000 will show a larger area, and that the 50ft contour lines shoud be relatively close in detail to the 40 foot lines on a 1:24,000 map. So basically, these maps will be slightly "zoomed out" in that they will look smaller, but still have relatively the same detail?
Am I correct in this or do I not know what the heck I am talking about?
Thanks
