Sealskin has a winter sock called Chillblocker. It’s basically their original sock with wool added to add warmth in winter.
Is this a good idea? Would it be better to get their original skin and wear over a Smartwool sock. If this gets wet from perspiration, you just switch to an extra pair of warm socks.
If the Chillblocker socks get wet with sweat, you better have another pair handy at $49.00/pr. Or, do the chillblocker wick sweat away and have it evaporate quick enough not to be a problem?
Thanks
Jun 16, 2005 at 7:24 am #1338187I have never used Chillblocker Sealskinz but don’t see the advantage of a ‘combined’ sock unless the weight is considerably lower than the combined weight of conventional Sealskinz and a Smartwool or other warm sock.
Using a layering system of clothing on the torso is now widely adopted. Layering on the feet is the way to go.AndyL
