Just wanted to give a shout out to Mike and HMG as I recently received my 2400 windrider pack and it is a beautifully made piece of gear that, I believe, walks the line perfectly between ultralight thinking and real world application. It works great as a winter overnight pack here in the PNW (I rarely do more than a night or two out in the winter so even the added bulk of my winter kit fits with the extra space of not having to pack a lot of food) as well as just the right size for extended 3 season trips. I am going to take it on the JMT this summer with my BV450 (which fits just fine in the bottom and can JUST hold 6 days worth of food — re-supply in MTR leaves two six day trips). It is spartan (therefore pretty dang light) but with the external pockets ideal for on-trail comfort. And did I mention it is executed perfectly and looks super cool in black and white? Just got my summit pack as well for my daily walking commute to and from work as well as peak bagging on th weekends…
Just my 2 cents:)
