Howdy folks,
I purchased a Bozeman Mountain Works TorsoLite sleeping pad from BPL back in early 2008. It got a very enjoyable 30-40 nights of use within a few months time. I then went off to college in a city and, sadly, it's probably gotten 4 or 5 nights use since then. It's mostly been stored uncompressed with the valve open.
I went back to use it the other day and found that it has a slow leak and is completely deflated after a night of sleeping on it. When I submerge it in water and apply some pressure in order to find the leak, there are slow streams of bubbles that come out all over the pad. Seems like there's a stream every few square inches.
Does this make any sense to anyone? Anyone had a similar circumstance? Is it possible that the material might wear out like that? I did often blow it up with my breath instead of letting it self-inflate, which I've since learned is a no-no.
As noted, Pacific Outdoor Equipment is now defunct (http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/forums/thread_display.html?forum_thread_id=64787), so I can't get any answers from them.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
