That orange thing right there is the heat "exchanger" made by MSR. I actually have one sitting around collecting dust. Its 8oz, so definitely not lightweight. However, it does do a pretty decent job of blocking wind and keeping the heat close to the pot of larger group cooking pots. When I used it, I would slide it down the pot so only half of it was touching the pot, and the rest hung down, protecting my Snow Peak Giga from wind.

When I saw it I was reminded of the one that Captain Paranoid made. He won an award for best design over in the UK. Maybe he can pop in and show his version.
