I'm on the lookout for packs that have either: almost no bottom panel, or the bottom panel sits higher than most. Any suggestions?
More explanation:
With almost every backpack that I've ever worn, I find myself being annoyed at the way the bottom ends up resting on my backside. Seems to be the case no matter how I pack the backpack. I have a pronounced curve in my lower back, so maybe that's why this always happens; there must be other women who have this issue.
I've rigged my Vapor Ki to have almost no bottom panel; front and backpanel come together in sort of a V shape at bottom, which works well. But I may have to retire it (long story), so since I have to get a pack anyway, I'm looking at lighter options. I can ask a cottage manufacturer to make an appropriate mod for me. But I thought I'd put it out there to you folks first, because maybe such a pack already exists. It's hard to tell from looking at pictures and descriptions.
I'm happy for any suggestions, but I think I want one with framesheet or stays, because so far a CCF-backpad-only setup pushes backpanels into uncomfortable (for me) shapes. Preferably fine up to 25 lbs total but usually more like 20. I'm tempted by Zpacks Arc Blast, of course.
Thanks!
