I ordered a ZPacks pack the other night, going off of their way to measure what size pack that would fit. They have you measure from below where the hipbelt will be on you, to the top of your shoulder. I was very surprised that I needed to order -1" down from the default 21" as I am 6' tall and that was still longer than what the tape measure showed. Most every other accepted way to measure is from the top of your hip to your most protruding vertebrae, which for me comes out to I believe 21". Are these two ways of measuring apples to apples or apples to oranges? Should I email Matt at ZPacks and change my order to the default size? Looking forward to shaving some pack weight, but still ordered some detachable side pockets to add volume just in case I need the space, as my 3 year old SMD Starlight is at 4200 cubic inches that I presently use for all fair weather bp trips, either for 8 days or a overnighter. and weights 25 oz. with the GG torso Nitelight pad which is too hard for me to sleep on, so is extra weight.
