Shell/wind pants with large thighs?

I have big thighs too. All the cycling I do. I often order a Women's large for wind and rain pants rather than a Men's Medium.

My waist is 32" and my inseam is 32"-ish. The GoLite Paclite rain pants, in particular, have 32" waist in Women's Large and a 31.5" inseam, and the thighs are 2 full inches larger than the Men's medium.

So, try women's!

Railriders doesn't have a women's version of the winter weatherpants, but maybe the lined Yukon pants would work in a women's XL?

Does anyone own the RR weatherpants? Would they be fine in camp around freezing with a light base layer underneath?

Check out running and sports gear stores. You can get unlined wind pants as low as 6oz and most have good DWR as well. I would wear them with light long johns for colder weather.

Check out the REI Sahara pants too. They have a loose fit in the legs.

Apparently the RR women's pants are tight fitting as well. I just want some rugged nylon pants that fit! Don't care too much about weight as long as the pants aren't tactical or anything. Maybe I should just make some.

34 waist and 24 thighs here.

I buy extra large wind pants. Thighs are typically in the 28-30" range.

I do the same with windbreaker jackets.

I like things to fit loose and baggy on me. I wear them in hot weather as well as cold weather. Loose baggy pants do much better for me in hot weather than tight pants.

On the down side….I look like a clown when backpacking (and other times too come to think of it.)

Vivek, the Mountain Hardwear Mesa pants are very durable, semi-windproof, have wide thighs and narrow calves.

Max, what weight is the material? Warm enough in the mornings?
