My beloved Patagonia Houdini has a couple of 2" long tears at the end of the sleeve. They don't affect the functioning of the jacket right now, but they are slowly growing.
What's the best way to get this repaired? Should I just find a seamstress in town? Or is the fabric too sheer? Do I need to send it to someplace like Rainy Pass who specializes in outdoor gear? Any advice appreciated. A picture of the damage follows.
It may work out cheaper to replace it once you take postage in account (maybe not)
I would buy some Mcnett Tenacious tape and try a home repair.
My Houdini started to shred along the jacket hem and I repaired it with Tenacious tape. It actually did a good job and looks decent.

Tenacious tape for the quick, easy, and pretty permanent job. Send it back to Patagonia and they'll fix it for free or a modest fee.
you could take it to your local dry cleaner. he would likely be able to stitch it back up (request polyester thread) for cheap.
