Let's see if markup is supported

(edit) so HTML seems to work, but with a lot of white space; lets try putting all the html on one line then

That's better, the forum probably replaces all newline characters with an HTML break, regardless of where the newline is.
Wonder if CSS is supported? (no, the contents of the style attribute is removed)

I really hope javascript is disabled! (it is, the script tag is completely filtered when you post the message)
Finally, what about non-ascii characters? e-umlaut: ë, c-cedille: ç, euro: €
