I have an older GoLite pack. It is a 70L+ pack that was the precursor to the Pinnacle. I am not sure the name, it is blue/black. Anyway, I bought the pack a long while ago second hand. The previous owner removed the hoop stay or whatever it used for the internal frame. This has never been an issue before, but I just returned from a winter trip and my back has been in bad shape ever since.

I am leoking to see if anyone might have or know how to DIY a internal frame to help with how this pack rides nowdays? I can give some dimensions if necessary.

That is an old Golite Trek pack, they came with a sewn in foam pad but not a real frame.

If you are looking for a DIY option to give the pack some more resistance to torso collapse you could always use a foampad combined with a stay like Dave C did with his thruway here:

or you could attempt to add a custom hoop stay similar to what Gary D with his Jam:

I tried various iterations with my Trek, including bonding stays to a stiffer CCF pad in the pad pocket. Eventually gave up and got a real pack.

Or you could try using CPB (corrugated plastic board)that's commonly used for yard signs, available at most sign shops. Just replace the stiff foam that Golite uses with CPB and you'll notice a world of difference. Happy Trails!
