Brasslite sells Evernew Ti pots – see brasslite.com

From what has been reported, they are based out of Japan and their facilities were affected by the Tsunami in 2011. I guess it has taken them some time to get back on their feet and of course they would be backlogged.

I was really looking for their 500ml pot and ended up having to buy it overseas at a premium.

I SUSPECT that all the Ti pots come from Kingsound (China), with different brands printed on them in batches.

Reasons: I haven't seen any other genuine manufacturers, and the cost of the carbide dies needed to make these pots is just a wee bit high…

The evernew ones are (or at least were) stamped made in Japan.

My Evernew titanium is stamped "made in Japan." A newer aluminum pot is stamped "made in Korea."

That being said, obviously contract manufacturers play a large role in this industry, like others. I remember one project I was worked on at a Fortune 100 company that made IT equipment where we we looking to dual source an important subcomponent based on technology only three of four vendors in the world had access to.

When we did the audit on the two finalists, both of which were name brand Fortune 100 companies, we discovered that both parts were sourced from the same contract manufacturer in China. So much for our two sources. :-)))
