These look like an interesting concept, creating more tension in a hammock by using 3 anchor points.
$1280 seems a little steep for a polyester shelter though. I imagine a silynylon one could quite easily dip under the 2kg mark?

"hey honey, how about those three trees ?"
Jan 6, 2013 at 9:59 pm #1941372dunno – looks useless to me…
what would one do with such a shelter…
and no – it won be under 2Kg since you need the long strong straps and adjustment system
Jan 6, 2013 at 10:13 pm #1941375Seriously I would forget the backpacking/hiking market and look at the resort/eco-tourism side of things.
Done in heavy canvas (or something like that) they could last a few years and create a point of difference.
"spend the night in the tree-top" experience.
Could be a good way to give parents a night free from the kids…Jan 10, 2013 at 7:14 am #1942450There is a lot of material in that setup and then there is the ladder. Even using some of the lightest materials available, it would weigh much more than alot of the heavier hammock set ups.
Besides, at 2 o'clock in the morning, I would forget I was up in the air that high and fall right out when I have to go relieve myself.
Jan 10, 2013 at 8:07 am #1942473I love them. Can I just use this instead of a house?
