I came home from work to find a delivery from Montbell. (Pretty quick delivery considering I ordered it Sunday night.) At any rate, the box contained a new 800 fill U.L. Super Stretch #5. Holy cow, this is a sweet bag. I'm amazed at how much of a difference the "stretch" ability makes. It's not claustraphobic at all. Special thatnks to Brett for helping me choose this bag.

Thanks Brett. Mine arrived today also… a long 800 fill U.L. Super Stretch #2. I am 5' 10 3/4" and considered getting the standard length. That would have been a big mistake. When I close the foot baffle I am unable to fit in the bag. They didn't allow in fudge factor for the 5'10" maximum height of the standard bag.
The double layer loft averages about 4 1/2" to achieve the 25F rating.
With the ability to stretch the shoulder area from about 57" to 75" it should allow plenty of room to wear high loft insulation in the bag to extend its temperature rating.
Thanks! Spread the word about MB bags! My three are the gems of my gear collection.
By the way guys, when you start thinking about extending the temperature range of you new bag, I can get you a 2006 zipperless #7 super stretch down, regular, literally 1 lb. $100 plus shipping. Good for another 15'F or as a stand-alone summer bag. I have one too!
pimp'n ain't easy, no sir.
I don't know, Brett… for me anyway, I would want a full zip on my warm-weather bags — rather than a zipperless "all or nothing". My two cents.
I, too, am leary of zipperless bags. The cool thing about the new Montbell is that I can unzip it all the way and….BINGO, I've got a quilt with a foot box!
I prefer zipperless and hoodless.
