Killarney Provincial Park – La Cloche Trail
October 21st-23rd, 2012
Full loop – 78 kms (48 miles)
This was a 3 day/2 night trip we did in late October in Killarney Park here in Ontario, Canada. Covered approx. 78 km (48 miles) over the 3 days. My own base weight was approx. 11 lbs and Earl was carrying about a 15 lbs base weight.
Short Story: Amazing scenery, tough trail.
We had some rain on the first day in, but it cleared up by noon and remained nice the remainder of the trip. This is a very tough trail with some pretty rugged sections on the northern portion. We knocked this one off in 3 days which was our goal, but we were definitely on the sore side coming out of the park.
Essentially had the park to ourselves and did not see anyone until the last afternoon when we ran into 1 other group and a pair of day hikers near the entrance. Definitely my new favorite trail.
