I use this gripper made by GSI. Don't remember the weight, but I cut over the magnet and popped it out, so that made it even lighter.gripper

Too hard to use GSI gripper on pot without handles? You'd have to grip at the lip which would not be fun to me.

My preference is a pot with folding handles and a bandana.

If I'm using a pot without handles, a generic pot grabber like the Open Country works well. In fact it is a little light than the MSR version that is full of lightening holes. I've never been able to justify the cost of something like the Vargo Ti model or the MSR 1oz model.

The bottom line is that I want good secure control of a pot of boiling water. It is usually being poured into a dinner bag or smaller container and is rather bypass getting scalded hands or feet far from home

Thanks Tony and others for their responses, I'll check out the above mentioned items. All I need is to be able to control my Trangia non-stick lid enough to flip a pancake and remove it when finished from my stove. I'm not SUL yet, working on UL, so for now I'm fine with the wire handles that are stock on my ti pots. I know it is a broad mind set to get to SUL.
Hi Sarbar.
