I have a bunch of chain grease stains on my gelanots ski pants. Chain grease is very resilient to wash out. I was looking online and it seems for goretex many recommend white gas. This forum is a lot more knowledgeable than "the Internet", would white gas cause any trouble? I realize I will have to reapply the DWR.
In my experience citrus cleaners, like zepp, are great degreasers that are even milder than petroleum based stuff. Would diluted zepp be better?
I've had some serious grease stains on Goretex, and it didn't seem like any ordinary degreasers would get them out. So, I resorted to white gas, and that worked. Unfortunately, then the Goretex membrane was contaminated (which makes it leak). I used some denatured alcohol to get some of that out. Then I laundered it by the ordinary method, and finally it was clean.

Is nikwax compatible with grangers? I want to use the nikwax wash in, then spray grangers.
I been playing with DWR stuff all morning. Nikwax or Grangers dont come close to OEM DWR. There has to be something out there that matches OEM DWR. I dont care if applying it kills a kitten.
