Hello, just a little warning if you want to buy Crux Clothing.

I have one of the original Halo pull-over Jackets (Medium), and the fit is just perfect for me!

I wanted the same quality and fit in an every-day jacket, so i thought i would get the new version of the same jacket i already own, but in the full-zip version.

I contacted crux to ask if the sizing was the same, and was told i should probably go up a size. So i went from a medium to a large.

Today i get the jacket via mail, and i got very disappointed right away…

Let me break it down…

1. – The arms are nicely long, good! (a little longer than my old medium)
2. – The fit under my armpits are very tight! (my old medium has much better space here)
3. – Now, you would think that if they reduced the circumference in the upper part of the jacket, it would probably be the same for the lower part of jacket…but NO! they made it way, way bigger!!

Why, why, WHY! would you make it into a pear-shape! I'm by no means big on the upper part of my body, i would say i'm pretty slim-build, so i can't really see who this jacket could ever fit??

You would think that buying from a highly specialized climbing gear brand would get you a somewhat athletically build jacket….

Perhaps it tapers wider to accommodate climbing gear strapped to the torso.
Patagonia had a very wide cut on its Specter rain pullover when it first came out, and quickly changed it.
Good hunting for the right shell – there are lots of good threads and articles here.

Hey Sam, thanks for commenting.

I think the pearshaping is overly done if done for accomodating climbing gear.

Btw, it's a down jacket.
