Hello guys
In a few weeks I go on a small winter-hike in the mountains in France (Les Vosges). I don't have thermical underwear for my legs so I thought this hike would be a nice moment to buy underwear-pants.
Yesterday I bought 'Mammut All-year Long Pants', made of a Symbitech fabric, which is made of 82% Polyester and 18% Merino-wool.
However, in the store I also tried Patagonia Merino Wool underwear (83% Merino-Wool and 17% Polyester).
Both the Mammut and the Patagonia were very comfortable but I chose the Mammut pants because the were a bit tighter on the legs. I did not consider the difference in the composition of the fabrics and today I am wondering if I have made the right choice.
I don't do a lot of winter-hikes so this is also a factor to consider. The patagonia will probably be warmer because it uses more Merino-wool but as I mainly do summer-hikes, maybe the Mammut was the right choice for me?
However, I really like Merino-wool a lot as I think it is very warm and very nice and soft to wear.
Can you give your opinion of both underwear pants? I really don't know a lot about fabrics and I'm really wondering if I have made the right choice. I can still change the Mammut pants for the Patagonia, so I would be very interested in your opinions. Thanx beforehand!
