What sizes are the hip belts on them? I dont see on there site where u can choose a belt size and im probably on the bigger side of things with a 34-36 in waste depending on time of year lol

edit**
I figured while i got you guys here I am trying to decide between the windrider 3400 and the porter. I know that the porter is pretty popular a good back does anyone have any experience with the windrider 3400?

Just drop a quick not to Mike @HMG. He swapped out larger size for me the shoulder harness.

To others: Now I was going to post a picture of my custom Summit Pack but then I suspect I would hear complaints about a lack of external pockets. By the way, it is divine.

I've been dealing with Mike this week about a customization for a Porter, and he was gladly willing to swap out things like shoulder straps or a larger hipbelt so long as it was something that they already had cut and designed. Frankly, he has been very easy to work with on even a request or two that goes above and beyond.

I have a question for you two then. Why are u swapping out shoulder straps? I am 5'8" 205lbs i have 52inch shoulders and 45 inch chest would i need a different shoulder strap too ?

I lift weights pretty regularly and have a naturally large chest, but I have a relatively short torso for my height (5'11"). I found the medium size straps to be just a hair too short. They certainly weren't bad, but given the option, I went for the large straps for an extra couple inches of length.

I have a 19 inch torso so i can go with the large or medium size. I m not sure of your chest and shoulder sizes but in your opinion if i went with the large size would that be fine or should i shoot him an email and yes you are both right i have talked to mike a few times(never thought to ask this stuff lol) but his customer service is 2nd to none.

Honestly, he's probably the best person to ask. You could just shoot him an email or call.

Yeah
Thanks for your help. Do u have the porter or windrider 3400 im really having a difficult time between the 2.

I bought a Porter, really liked it, but decided to have Mike do a few things to one, so I sent it back and am waiting on the custom version. I'm not sure that you could go too wrong with either pack. I have just gotten to the point where I prize the modularity of the Porter and all its options. My wife is seriously looking at a Windrider (probably 2400) sometime in the next few months because she knows she already wants the pockets and things.

It's a tough call, but one that probably no one else but you can make.

Thanks for your help Yeah i dont think u can go wrong with either. I do like the modularity of it but i also know i want the outside pockets haha so im stuck but i think ill be happy either way.

In my experience, it's tough to let go of the outside pockets until you're really ready to. That alone might be a great reason to go with the Windrider.

Hi Brian, I have a 47" chest measurement and wanted longer shoulder straps.

Regarding your torso size, best to call Mike but I would probably go for the Large.
