So, i've worn the rab a couple days around the house, down to the store – all with the tags on and with real care if i need to return it. No climbing obviously but just enough to see how it is. It is an amazing jacket in fit and warmth.
The problem I'm encountering is – for everyday use – I wonder if the 30d pertex will hold up. I'm thinking about switching to a heavier parka (rei DAS, wild things belay) where, even though it won't be lofty etc, I dont have to worry about everyday durability. I'm a careful guy, but I don't want to think twice before throwing the jacket on a bed when going to a party, rubbing against the bus seats, etc – not to mention the climbs i'm going to do later this season.
What are people's thoughts? am i underestimating the durability of the pertex endurance or are my concerns legitimate?
