I was browsing New Balance to see if they still offer the 110 that I enjoy so much, when I stumbled upon the mt110 boot. It looks like it could be pretty awesome, just a 110 with an integrated gaiter, but the upper material looks much thicker and less breathable. I am not sure what the purpose of the shoe is or what the material is like, but it does have me intrigued. Does anybody have any experience with this shoe?

According the New Balance site it is water resistant not water proof and they state it is designed for light weight trail racing. They don't say anything about snow. Weight is listed at 9oz (probably for one shoe). The site also states "4mm heel-to-toe drop and is designed to mimic the natural shape of the foot, providing a more fitted feel that is similar to a comfortable sock."

looking at a blown up version, does the upper say something about snow? can't quite read it

built in gaiter is a good idea imo

It does indeed say "Nor Snow" on the upper/gaiter portion. Cool concept.

The zipper looks like it would'nt be too waterproof, still a cool product though. Should be good for wet conditions like rain, small puddles, mud, snow. The sole looks exactly like the original 110.

sadly, unlike their shoe counterpart- the "boot" isn't offered in wide sizes :(
