Has anyone used a Scarp 1 or 2 in a good snowfall (preferrably heavy, wet snow) WITH the crossing poles in place?
If so how did the tent hold up? Was there significant deflection from the snow weight?
I ask because I'd like to get the Scarp 2 with ripstop inner for winter camping.
As many here know I modded my TT Moment by running the crossing pole INSIDE (and back out the ends) for better canopy support.
The Scarp 1 and 2 could have the crossing poles run beneath the fly into wedge-shaped pockets at each corner above the very structurally strong apex of the CF corner poles. These internal crossing poles can be held in place with sewn-in Velcro tie wraps as used on computer cables. I did this in my Moment and it works very well. I sewed them into the existing reinforcements for the outer pole straps.
