I'm looking for full length gaiters that work well with trail running shoes e.g. inov8 roclite.

I've had two problems with other gaiters:

1. The back of the gaiter slips up over the heel no matter how I try to adjust them.

2. The metal or rubber "strap" get abraded quickly even when placed between the lugs on the roclites.

Any suggestions?

Check out "Dirty Girl Gaiters". They make gaiters that attach to velcro on your heel. You have to use an adhesive to attach the velcro to your shoe.

Hmmm I don't see any full length "Dirty Girl Gaiters". But maybe the adhesive/velcro solution would be good with other gaiters.

I hear Simplicity is back in business. No experience with their product but have heard a lot of good things. Plus Velcro is not required IIC.

Dirty Girl Gaiters were made in regular and hiker length/height a while back. But as I remember it they were only about an inch or two taller and definitely not full length/height.

MYOG Gaiters are always possible.

Me, I just replace the bungee cord under the shoe at regular intervals – every couple of years.
If you put the under-shoe cord/strap to far forward the heel can ride up. It needs to be right back, just in front of where a classical heel would be.

The Lycra version (eg Dirty Girl) works very well but is not full length and not really suited to serious scrub-bashing. 500 denier UNproofed Cordura works very well though for scrub.

Cheers
