6ft human fits in a 5’6 Western Mountaineering Bag.

I’m 5’10’ and I fit in my wife’s marmot angel fire and its 5’6” fit also. Its kinda nice cause its women’s cut and I’m chonky, so…

I guess it’s only 4” difference but it totally fits me.

I’m 5’3 140 pound female and just bought EE solo quilt – short – slim – women 20 degree-  support to fit to 5’6.  I can cover my head !   It’s awesome – trick is buy women tends to be roomier !

Might help someone shave a few ounces!

If there is pressure on the head and or foot area that will cause loss of heat compared to a fully fluffed up area.

Compressed down(!) to about half it apparently can store the same heat but starts to diminish after that (with more compression)

Cut your sleeping bag in half.  Put all your clothing on your upper body.  I’ve spent a few nights like that, with my legs my backpack.

I wouldn’t guarantee a sound night’s sleep, though.

But if it works for you, it works for you.

When my calves cramp up, I want to stretch out, NOW.  When they don’t, 6’0″ me could probably use a 5’6″ bag.

To a fault, I’ve bought longer bags, thinking of winter camping when I’d like to put my clothing or boots at the bottom.  I’ve carried an extra 4-6 ounce on every summer trip as a result.

yeah I’m saying that I fit in her bag, not that I can just get in it. Its not tight.  Ive never understood but maybe they are just making sure that it wont get tight even is someone toward the top of the height limit. I suppose so it keeps everybody nice and warm as opposed to being a cold, perfectly fitting bag.

Franco…  The only area in the bag I was concerned with was the foot box.  My feet ever so slightly were compressing the down but I shifted myself forward, and it helped to create more space down there.   I like slim fitting bags (less material, smaller footprint, less weight, more efficient, and this worked for me even when fully zipped up.   I’m 6 feet and 150 lbs.  Not saying it is for everyone but just my experience.
